Puerto Princesa's Subterranean River National Park

Partly because of its wind and weather patterns, tourism in Boracay is at its peak during the Amihan season. During Amihan, the prevailing wind blows from the east. Boracay's main tourism area, White Beach, is on the western side of the island and is sheltered from the wind. During the Amihan season, the water off White Beach is often glassy-smooth. On the eastern side of the island, hills on the northern and southern ends of the island channel the Amihan season wind from the east onshore, onto Bulabog Beach in the central part of the island's eastern side. This makes the reef-protected waters off that beach ideal for windsurfing and kiteboarding / kitesurfing.

About Coron, Palawan
Last year National Geographic named the island as the best island destination in the whole of South East Asia and the 13th best island destination in the world. This is some feat considering the wealth of tropical islands in the region. The potential of the tourism industry in Palawan has been recognized as one of the highest in the world, so much so that Banyan Tree Holdings will be investing an estimated $70 - $270 million to develop 2 hotels in the region, with a view to creating a market presence on a similar scale to that of Thailand.
The Master Plan of the Philippine government involves an investment of P15.4 billion in Northern Palawan for tourism, environmental management and infrastructure for the next 10 years. An eco-tourism study conducted by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) projects that Palawan needs 5,600 rooms by 2010.
Palawan is within easy reach of major Asian cities such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila and Shanghai. Major infrastructure development has been started. A modern terminal at the YKA Airport was recently completed. The runway is being extended to accommodate Airbus aircrafts of regional flights. Concreting of the 20 kilometer road from the airport to Coron town is soon to be finished..

Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is home to some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. Rising from the volcanic depths of the Sulu Sea in the western Philippines, these magnificent atolls encompass an astonishing diversity of marine life.
The park is an underwater sanctuary where nature thrives. Tubbataha is the Philippines' first national marine park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a place of global importance being preserved for future generations of humankind.
Tubbataha supports an unparalleled variety of marine creatures. Colorful reef fish crowd corals growing in the shallows while sharks and pelagics haunt the steep drop offs to the open sea.
A team of rangers are stationed on the reef year-round and, from March until June, divers visit Tubbataha to experience the wonders of this unique underwater world. www.tubbatahareef.org/

It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world's longest.

" The mind-blowing karst formations, hidden lakes, crystalline coves, mangrove filled inlets, and tiny strips of white sand all backed by jungle-clad walls filled with monkeys and exotic birds were simply too much for one mind to process. This just might actually be the most beautiful place I have ever seen in the world." by Tony
